Many people have been asking why Mr. Kilkenny grew a moustache last month. Mr. Kilkenny told us that he was growing it for MOVEMBER. Many men grow moustaches in November for male cancer awareness but he was doing it for the charity Debra Ireland, which is a charity for people with a life long skin disorder.
Mr. Kilkenny told me that he did not like the long moustache nor did it suit him! He was growing it for comical effect, although he says cancer’s not funny. On December 1st he shaved the moustache off.
Mr. Kilkenny hoped to raise €200 and he said that this amount might not do very much but that the efforts and fundraising of people all over Ireland will make a huge difference to people’s lives.
If you would like to make a donation to the charity, Mr. Kilkenny with welcome big or small donations from staff and students.
